These are woods that I have walked through since my young childhood.  My best friend Emily and I could spend all day there – with a picnic for lunch.  Neither of us live near this path today…but I know we each return as often as we can.  In the summer it is ten thousand shades of green.  Come autumn, it turns a symphony of color.  Sounds and smells are totally familiar to this day.  Each year, I probably walk a little less far up the trail…but it only takes three minutes of walking before you are deep into the environment and filled with memories and feelings that all is right with the world.  Life and death coexist in peace.
