Gem is a not-so-thriving metropolis in western Kansas.  Though it does offer a few surprises.  I visited last year for the SECOND time, my previous experience being almost ten years ago.  As I approached the town from the east, all of my recollections came back to me.  This is a nostalgic viewpoint for me.  And yes, I would visit again to witness any changes that might yet occur.
