Chinese Funerary Guards

Many are familiar with the life-sized Terracotta Warrior figures and their horses buried in Xi’an City in China to protect a famous emperor after his death.  A picture or two of these may appear on my cards at a future date.  But these very much smaller figures are the hand painted funerary guards of one Prince Qinjian from the Ming Dynasty.  They are in the Shaanxi Provincial Museum,  also in Xi’an City.  Like the larger Terracotta Warriors, each of these figures is unique and in this large number, they make an impressive display.  I believe I would feel safe with their protection.
