This beautiful architectural detail is from the Dushanbe Teahouse in Boulder, Colorado – I encourage you to google the story behind this jewel.  It was gifted to the city by the Mayor of Boulder’s sister city in Tajikistan and these decorative details inside and outside the building are by artisans from this Central Asian country.  The wood carvings reflect the influence of Persian art in their color and design.  It is a unique experience to visit here – and as luck would have it, you can also get a great meal as it serves as a teahouse and a choice restaurant!
