The Riverside Church in Morningside Heights on the upper west side of Manhattan, modeled after the 13th century Gothic Cathedral in Chartres, France.   No disrespect intended, of course.  This is part of the grand entry into the church with gothic robed figures on either side.  It was financed by John D. Rockefeller.  It covers two city blocks and overlooks the Hudson River.  It is the tallest church in the United States with a  392 foot tower.  It is non-denominational today and should be part of any tour of the city.  Its organ and carillon (featuring a 20-ton bourdon bell!) can often be heard at events open to the public.  Hope you might Google this architectural gem and enjoy the interior sculpture, glasswork and so much more.  Gorgeous and stunning.  Forgive me for having some fun with the gothic figures at the entry!
