Someone asked me recently for a landscape photograph showing mountains and sky – I had to laugh and point out that judging from my portfolio I seemed more often to be looking down at the ground than up at the sky and clouds and mountains.   True enough.  This is true wherever I go – be it grassland, prairie, mountains or woodlands – and in whatever season.  This beautiful autumn specimen was at my feet in the Adirondack woods near Piseco, New York.  More pictures from this area are found in the category of trees/forest in the mosaic of my photographs below.
