Someone asked me recently for a landscape photograph showing mountains and sky – I had to laugh and point out that judging from my portfolio I seemed more often to be looking down at the ground than up at the sky and clouds and mountains. True enough. This is true wherever I go – be it grassland, prairie, mountains or woodlands – and in whatever season. This beautiful autumn specimen was at my feet in the Adirondack woods near Piseco, New York.
