This playground – this school – will not be opening this year.  And many ponies such as these are part of a landscape of past dreams.  Ride ’em cowboys and cowgirls during recess and during the summer months when the schoolyard serves just as a city park.  Pick a favorite pony…the rodeo lies ahead as the dreams grow bolder and the barrel racing calls.  Can you look at this picture without hearing the sounds of children laughing?  Not to say that most of these kids don’t have their own ponies or horses in their barns at home!
