Sandhill Cranes of Kearney

I made a second trip to Nebraska this year to see the sandhill cranes noodling around in the corn fields and ascending and descending in the Platte River for their safety in numbers overnight.  I still find it tricky to capture them in their mass ascension partly because it happens quickly and you just want to watch them as they fly over, undistracted by the maneuvering of a camera.  But in the right season at the right time, they are everywhere, they are everywhere in the landscape and corn fields.  So elegant!
