Taiyuan is the capitol city of Shanxi Province in China – The Fen River runs through the city with beautifully landscaped parks on either side.  Some have told me that this picture looks a lot like Colorado (since Colorado is where I live).  To me, the picture is filled with memories of my trip to China a few years ago.  More images from that trip can be found in the Categories section of this website called CHINA.  Click on each picture for additional information.  I like to think that this particular park would be suitable for a Seurat picnic painting!  Maybe that idea is influenced by the fact that the Taiyuan resident I was walking with was carrying a parasol to block a bit of the hot sun.  I was happy to be there.
