Some favorite trees in the Adirondacks, near Piseco, New York (Higgins Bay).  I grew up in a town in New Jersey that was famous for its old trees – and have ended up in a town in Colorado where you can drive for twenty five miles without seeing one  single tree.  Twists of fate.  But it is no wonder that I have such a special place in my heart for forests, for magnificent stand alone trees, for old gnarled trunks and spindly branches.  For evergreens and for New England’s  wild displays of color.  My “trees” category will grow quickly below.  Stay tuned.
